Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable rear wheels to be steered in anti-phase in a simple mechanism at the time of a large steering angle of front wheels by connecting the rear end of a drive connecting rod extended from a front wheel steering mechanism with the steering rod for the rear wheels via a slide mechanism consisting of a connecting rod including a connecting link and an engaging groove. CONSTITUTION:A connecting rod 28 including an engaging groove 26 is connected, by way of a crank 18 mounted on the body of a vehicle, with the rear end of a drive connecting shaft 12 extended afterward from a front wheel steering mechanism 10 enabling front wheels 4 to be steered via a tie-rod 8, and the other end is connected with the arm body 20 mounted on the body of the vehicle. An engaging element 30 firmly fixed onto the relaying rod of steering rods 22 for rear wheels 6 is engaged with an engaging groove 26 while being guided. Owing to this constitution, the combination of simple link mechanisms enables the rear wheels to be freely steered depending on the amount of steering of the front wheels, in particular, when the steering angle of the front wheels is smaller than a specified one, the rear wheels are not practically operated, and when it is equal to or more than the specified one, they may be steered in anti-phase.
