Abstract

PURPOSE:To select and set automatically a balance network by providing a service trunk, using a mixture signal having plural frequencies as a setting signal and measuring the reflection attenuation. CONSTITUTION:A setting signal having two kinds or over of frequencies is inputted from a 4-wire side of a hybrid circuit 2 when a subscriber 13 hooks on, the signal is sent to a subscriber line, the reflection attenuation of the reflected signal is measured by switching balance networks Z1-Z3 and the balance network whose reflection attenuation is over a prescribed value is selected automaticaly. Then a mixture signal having two kinds or over of frequencies are used as the set signal. Thus, the optimum balance network representing a high reflection attenuation characteristic in average is selected in the audio band, a microprocessor is used and controlled automatically, the man-hour for setting is saved and the load of the software is releaved and more accurate setting is attained.
