Abstract

PURPOSE:To enter dust-removed and -purified air to a head disk assembly by providing an electric dust collector in which an electrode impressing a high voltage to a part of a gas circulating mechanism is disposed and a filter mechanism using a metal sintered body. CONSTITUTION:The air included in a magnetic disk medium 2 is guided to a positioner 4 by an air spoiler 6, introduced to an outflow port 7a after passing through the positioner 4, passed through the filter 9a herein, and further guided to the filter 9b via the electric dust collector 8. In the vicinity of an inflow opening part 7b, a negative pressure is generated and the purified air is guided to the magnetic disk medium 2 through the inflow opening part 7b. In such a manner, the dust generated in the head disk assembly is trapped the dust more than several microns by the filter 9a and the residual dust below several microns is guided to the electric dust collector 8 and trapped thereby.
