Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce deformation of the flexible rotated disc of a recording medium by arranging outside positive pressure generating faces interposing the slider negative pressure generating face of the magnetic disc and by arranging an inside positive pressure generating face, where the magnetic head is inserted, in the negative pressure generating face. CONSTITUTION:Convex outside positive pressure generating faces 7 are provided with negative pressure generating face 8 interposed in the width direction of slider 5, and inside positive pressure generating face 9 where magnetic head 10 is inserted is provided in the center of negative pressure generating face 8, and a support arm is fitted. When this slider 5 is caused to approach rotating and running flexible disc 1, a gap which is tapered off is constituted between the surface of disc 1 and outside positive pressure generating face 7 as well as inside positive pressure generating face 9, and a positive air pressure is generated, and a gap which is spread out like an unfolded fan is constituted between the surface of disc 1 and negative pressure generating face 8, and a negative air pressure is generated. As a result, flexible disc 1 holds a plane approximately in rotation, and fatigue dependent upon local deformation and permanent deformation are prevented.
