Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve high-speed operation stability by steering subsidiary steering wheels according to an output signal of a steering detecting sensor when a select lever of a transmission is located at a low-speed side engaging position, and steering same according to an output signal of a yaw rate sensor when the select lever is located at a high-speed side engaging position. CONSTITUTION:A control portion 20 judges the engaging position of a select lever 24 of a transmission 6 according to an output signal of an engaging position sensor 26. When the select lever is located at a low-speed side engaging position and backward position, subsidiary steering means 18 is controlled to operate according to an output signal of a steering detecting sensor 22 to steer rear wheels 10, 10 in the opposite phase to front wheels 8. In case of the first speed position, similarly the rear wheels 10 are steered in the opposite phase according to output of the steering detecting sensor 22. During high-speed running, according to output of a yaw rate sensor 28, the subsidiary steering means 18 is controlled to operate to steer the rear wheels 10 in the same phase as that of the front wheels 8. In case of the second speed and the third speed, steering is not conducted. Thus, the constitution can be simplified and the operation stability can be improved.
