Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce leakage currents without increasing the dielectric loss of a capacitor by changing the polymer layer of a heterocyclic compound near the interface of a defective section in a dielectric oxide film layer into an insulator. CONSTITUTION:An aluminum plate 11 is used as a metallic plate as the base body of a capacitor element, and an aluminum oxide layer 12 as a dielectric oxide film layer, the polymer layer 13 of pyrrole as the polymer layer of a heterocyclic compound, a graphite layer 15 as a conductor layer for leading out an electrode and a silver paste layer 16 are formed onto the surface of the aluminum plate 11 in succession. Electrode terminals 17 and 18 are mounted respectively to the silver paste 16 and the aluminum plate 11, thus constituting the capacitor element. An undercoating layer 19 composed of a material such as a polybutadiene group resin material is shaped onto the top face of the silver paste layer 16. Sections 13a near the interfaces of defective sections in the polypyrrole layer 13 grown up to the interfaces of defective sections 14 in the aluminum oxide layer 12 are changed into an insulator, thus remarkably reducing leakage currents.
