Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce consumption of binder and to improve yield of production by adding surface active agent to the binder at the time of sintering the binder composing of thermoplastic resin and as injected green compact composing of metal powder after removing the binder. CONSTITUTION:At the time of injecting the mixing material of the thermoplastic resin (polyethylene, etc.) and the metal powder to make the green compact, heating this green compact to remove the binder and heating it at high temp. to make the sintered compact, the surface active agent is added to the binder and used. Then, it is necessary that the surface active agent has m. p. in the temp. range of good workability and simple construction and easily generates heat-decomposition and does not contain element except C, O and H. Stearic acid, etc., is suitable to it. By this method, if even the powder having small average particle size is used, the injection for compacting can be executed under less binder addition quantity than the usual consumption and the de-binder treatment is executed at good production yield.
