EXAMPLE: (2S,3S)-3-Hydroxymethyl-5-norbornene-2-carboxylic acid lactone.
USE: Useful as a synthetic intermediate for alkaloid compounds, having specific pharmacological action, such as hypotensive, sedative, tranquilizer action, etc., useful as medicines and capable of readily synthesizing alkaloid component in high yield without complicating reaction operation.
