Abstract

PURPOSE:To properly set the conduction timing of a power controlling element, by arranging a zero-cross detecting means and an angle computing means for computing the conduction timing. CONSTITUTION:The phase controller of a motor 1 is composed of a detecting means 7 for detecting the zero-cross of an AC power source, a conduction angle setting means 8 for setting the conduction angle of a TRIAC 2, a one-chip microcomputer 9, and an element controlling means 10. The zero-cross detecting means 7 is composed of an AC input photo-coupler 13 consisting of a luminous diode 11 and a photo-transistor 12, and is connected to the interruption input terminal of the microcomputer 9. The microcomputer 9 has a measuring means for measuring a zero-cross distance from the zero-cross detecting means 7, and an angle computing means for computing the conduction timing of the TRIAC 2 on the basis of said distance and the conduction angle from said setting means 8. As a result, the conduction timing of the TRIAC 2 is always properly set regardless of the elements of a resistor, a capacitor, and the like.
