Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce Ni powder having excellent sinterability by bringing an aq. soln. of water soluble salts of Ni and aq. oxalate soln. into reaction and subjecting the resulted precipitate to a high-temp. and high-pressure treatment in an autoclave, then subjecting the same to thermal decomposition in a neutral or weakly reducing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind among aq. solns. of the water soluble salts such as chloride, sulfate and nitrate of Ni and aq. soln. of at least one kind of oxalate among Na salts, K salts and ammonium salts are brought into reaction at 1:1-1.05 equiv. ratio. The precipitate of the nickel oxalate obtd. by this reaction is put into the autoclave and is agitated at 200-300 deg.C and high- pressure conditions of, for example, 15kg/cm<2>. After the formed precipitate is once cooled down to ordinary temp., the precipitate is rinsed with water. This precipitate is dried and is then subjected to the thermal decomposition by heating to >=350 deg.C in the weakly reducing gas mixed with gaseous N2 and gaseous H2 or neutral gas. The Ni powder having a large aspect ratio, good dispersibility and excellent sinterability is thus obtd.
