CONSTITUTION:A traverse sensor 1 is arranged so that a taken-up yarn is bent in the right or left direction when the taken-up yarn is traversed on a drum 22, and the tension of the taken-up yarn is detected, and a traverse signal is outputted. In this constitution, when the taking-up for the yarn is started, and the stationary speed is realized, the drum pulses (d) are supplied into a counter. When a traverse signal (d) is not inputted because of some reason, the counter counts up and outputs a traverse anomaly signal. Therefore, the winding on the drum is judged, and a yarn cutting instruction is transmitted immediately.
