Abstract

PURPOSE:To control the tension of a tape without using any capstan, by controlling the torque of the 1st motor with the signal of a tape speed detecting means and then controlling the torque of the 2nd motor with the torque control signal plus the signal relating to the 1st and 2nd tape winding diameter detection signals. CONSTITUTION:In case the tape 3 is forwarded toward the arrow v, the signal supplied from the tape speed control circuit 14 is supplied to the reel motor 8 through the torque control circuit 10 to control the motor 8. As a result, the speed of the tape 3 is controlled to a prescribed level. On the other hand, the signal of the control circuit 10 is supplied to the torque detecting circuit 13 to detect the torque tau2 generated from the motor 8. Furthermore the detection signals R1 and R2 of the tape winding diameter detecting circuits 11 and 12 plus the detection signal of the torque tau2 are led to the arithmetic processing circuit 15. The output calculated at the circuit 15 is supplied to the torque control circuit 9 to give a control to the torque tau1 of the reel motor 7.
