Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an overload and obtain a good steering feeling by providing a pair of propellers being adjacent to each other in the axial direction of the propelling shaft of an outboard motor, and forwardly inclining the rear propeller in a curved form as its bus goes to its tip side and bringing it close to the rotating track of the front propeller. CONSTITUTION:A front propeller 25 and a rear propeller 6 which are rotated mutually in the opposite directions are provided on the propelling device 24 of an outboard motor 20 being adjacent to each other in the axial direction. As for the front propeller 25, an ordinary propeller with a linear bus is employed whereas, in the rear propeller 6, its bus 6a, is forwardly inclined in a curved form toward its front end tip side and is brought close to the front end tip side of the front propeller 25 to be set in parallel to its rotating track. The vicinity of the front end tip of the rear propeller is not greatly removed from a contraction flow at the time of steering, preventing the occurrence of an overload and cavitation in the rear propeller to obtain a good steering feeling.
