PURPOSE:To prevent a recording image from causing transfer omission, by laminating successively an elastic layer and a special image accepting layer on a base material. CONSTITUTION:An elastic layer 32 is provided on a base material 31 and further, an image accepting layer 33 capable of heat transfer recording by using a thermal transfer sheet containing sublimating dye is provided thereon. When the elastic layer exists, the elastic layer portion can be deformed according to minute unevenness of a head and a sample base against application of recording pressure. Therefore, contact unevenness of a head to a medium can be greatly removed, and a recording image can be prevented from omission or the like. Rubber state substance is suitable as material of the elastic layer, and its thickness is preferably within a range of 3-20mum rather than 1-30mum. Thickness under 1mum causes shortage in effect of the elastic layer. Further, when the thickness exceeds 30mum, undulation or the like of the surface become remarkable and recording unevenness will be brought about.
