Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a small and thin type high-recording-density optical printer head, by mounting an LED array and an LED array-driving element on a film carrier by gang bonding, and fixing the LED array to an end face part of a metallic plate. CONSTITUTION:LED arrays 1 and LED array-driving elements 2 are mounted on film carriers 4 by gang bonding. The LED arrays 1a, 1b mounted respectively on the separate film carriers 4a, 4b are fixed to an end face part 3c of a metal lic plate 3 by a conductive member 5, and the metallic plate 3 is used as a common electrode for the LED arrays 1. To secure a printing width required of an optical printer head, the LED arrays mounted ordinarily on a plurality of the film carriers are fixed to the end face part 3c of the metallic plate in two rows. The film carriers 4 are bent at wiring parts 4a, 4b between the LED arrays 1a, 1b and the LED-driving elements 2a, 2b, respectively, to be substantial ly parallel to flat surface parts 3a, 3b of the metallic plate 3, and input electrode parts 4c, 4d of the film carriers are connected to circuit boards 6a, 6b so that LED-driving signals can be inputted.
