Abstract

PURPOSE:To extend the service life of a roller and to prevent it from being electrified simultaneously, by applying a conductive PFA layer on the surface of a cylindrical elastic body. CONSTITUTION:The conductive PFA layer 10 can be formed by applying a silicon rubber layer 6 that is the cylindrical elastic body on the surface of a metallic pipe 5, and furthermore, applying a nonshrinking conductive PFA tube on the surface of it. The energizing of the PFA layer 10 can be attained by adding a conductive substance such as carbon, a metallic particle, etc., into the PFA layer. In such a way, it is possible to improve the durability of the device by the PFA layer 10 applied on the surface, and also, to prevent a pressurizing roller from being electrified due to the passage of a transfer sheet.
