Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce single crystal ferrite contg. scarcely segregation in high yield by sealing single crystal ferrite contacting at a face with polycrystal ferrite in a deformable vessel, and transforming the whole to single crystals by pressurizing and heating externally. CONSTITUTION:In a deformable capsule A made of Pt, etc., constituted of a main body 10 of a cylindrical housing section having one side thereof reduced toward end and a cover section 11, a rod-like single crystal ferrite 13 is inserted to a bottomed cylindrical housing section 11c having a small inside diameter. Then, a single crystal ferrite 12 having a shape capable of being inserted into the capsule A is inserted so as to bring into contact with the single crystal ferrite 12 at a face. After covering the capsule with a cover 11, a flange 11c is welded to a cylindrical body 10a, and the capsule A is sealed by collapsing an evacuating pipe 11b while evacuating the capsule through the pipe 11b. The single crystal ferrite 13 is brought into pressurized contact with the polycrystal ferrite 12, and both are heat-treated by pressing the capsule A with a hot hydrostatic press. By this process, polycrystal ferrite 12 is transformed to single crystals in high yield using single crystal ferrite 13 as seed crystal.
