Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce the title building material capable of obtaining a reinforcing effect corresponding to the amt. of the following opened fiber to be added by impregnating a pulp-fiber sheet with a thermoplastic resin emulsion, drying the sheet, adding a specified mat. of the opened fiber of the sheet to a cement mixture, and curing the cement at high temp. and high pressure. CONSTITUTION:The pulp sheet is dipped in the emulsion of a thermoplastic resin such as acrylic, vinyl acetate, and vinyl chloride resins. Consequently, the pulp fiber is coated with the resin. The pulp sheet is then dried, and opened in the form of monofilaments. The opened fiber is added by 3-10wt.% to the mixed material consisting of cement, silica, and an aggregate, and uniformly mixed. The mixture is added with water, and molded. The obtained molded body is naturally cured, and then cured at high temp. and high pressure. The thermoplastic resin on the surface of the pulp fiber is melted by the curing, the molten resin acts as a binder, hence the adhesive strength between the fiber and the cement matrix is improved, and a building material having excellent flexual strength can be obtained.
