Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a friction agent being harmless to a human body, by a method wherein inorganic fiber except asbestos and organic fiber are mixed together, mixture slurry of a filler and mixing agent is coated during the wet state of a manufactured sheet material of the mixture fiber to dry the manufactured sheet material. CONSTITUTION:30-80wt.% inorganic fibre, e.g. glass fibre, and 10-70wt.% organic fiber, e.g. phenol fiber, are mixed together to manufacture a sheet by a sheet making machine. During the wet state of the manufactured sheet material, the manufactured sheet material is impregnated and coated with mixture slurry in which 10-30wt.% a filler for a friction agent, e.g. butyl rubber, and 1-20wt.% a binder, e.g. acryl resin are mixed together to dry the manufactured sheet material to produce a non-woven cloth for a friction agent. By impregnating the non-woven cloth with thermosetting resin for molding, a friction agent for a clutch facing, using no asbestos and harmless to a human body, can be produced.
