Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the dimensional accuracy and productivity of a product by coating a molten resin discharged from dies onto the outside circumference of a tension member thereby forming an inside layer having a truly circular section and the outside circumference having spiral grooves. CONSTITUTION:The molten polyethylene (PE) heated and kneaded by an extruder 1a is coated by the rotary die 2a on the outside circumference of a tension member A which is supplied from an un-coiler 3 and has 1.4mmphi single wire diameter to form the inside layer B having 6.4mmphi truly circular shape. After the inside layer B is cooled down to the softening point or below by a cooler 4a, the molten PE is coated on the inside layer by the rotary die 2b of an extruder 1b to form the outside layer D having the spiral grooves C. The member is then cooled by a cooler 4b and is coiled on a coiler 6. The flow of the molten resin to the spiral grooves is made constant, by which the dimensional accuracy is improved. Since the coatings are divided to the inside and outside layers, the layers are easily cooled and the productivity is improved.
