Abstract
PURPOSE: To sharply boost the corona starting voltage of a capacitor by a method wherein the gas, having electric insulating property, is brought to atmospheric pressure.
CONSTITUTION: Capacitor elements 7a, 7b... are placed in the casting mold 6 in a vacuum container 1, valves B2 B4 are closed, a valve BL is opened, a current is applied to a heater 5 while a vacuum pump 2 is being operated, and the mold 6 is heated up. As a result, the steam in the inner part is removed, the degree of vacuum becomes the prescribed value or less, and the valve B1 is closed. Then, the valve B2 is opened, the container to one atmospheric air pressure by flowing-in insulative gas, and the state is maintained for a suitable period. Then, the valve B2 is opened, gas pressure is lowered to the atomospheric pressure, and the valve B3 is closed. Then, the valve B4 is opened, the outer peripheral part of the capacitor element is covered by pouring synthetic resin, and this resin is heat-cured and gas is sealed in the aperture inside the capacitor element.
