Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the overcharge characteristics of a lead accumulator with large current by forming its neg. electrode plate from hollow fine fiber and lead powder, subjecting the hollow fiber to water repelling treatment, and thereby allowing the neg. electrode to have good absorption of oxygen gas. CONSTITUTION:A neg. electrode plate is formed from lead powder 1 and hollow fine fiber 2 treated for water repellence. Thus the oxygen gas generated from a positive electrode plate can desperse to inside the neg. electrode plate via the surface course of the fine fiber 2 and hollow 3 when it reaches the surface of neg. electrode. Thereby absorption of oxygen gas can be made even inside the neg. electrode plate to provide enhancement of the oxygen gas absorbing capacity. Each hollow 3 is also treated for water repellence, and therefore no electrolyte 4 intrudes in the hollow 3, so that the oxygen gas is not hindered from dispersing to inside the neg. electrode plate to lead to accomplishment of good oxygen gas absorption.
