Abstract

PURPOSE:To hygienically treat a large volume of sludge at a low cost by constituting the titled device into the water treatment construction with an aeration immersion filter bed to ladle out a large volume of water by a water wheel rotating at a low speed over the entire length thereof and to generate the turning flow in which the large volume of the water is aerated with a turning flow partition plate as a boundary thereby effecting contact oxidation. CONSTITUTION:The energy-saving water wheel 3 which rotates slowly at 30-60m/min circumferential speed is fixed horizontally in the upper part of a treatment tank 1 and the large volume of the water is ladled out by ladling members 6 of the water wheel 3 over the entire length thereof. Just a slight spacing exists between the lower part of the water wheel 3 and the turning flow partition plate 2 at this time and, therefore, the ladled water does not return and the water level rises. The water eventually passes the aperture in the lower part of the turning flow partition plate 2 and turns and flows in the tank 1. The turning flow 7 in which the large volume of the water is aerated is repeatedly contact-oxidized at the time of passing the immersion filter bed 4 having many filter bed elements 4a on one side of the partition plate 2.
