Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable highly sensitive detection of a fine defect, by magnetizing an object to be inspected using a high-pass high frequency AC to detect a flaw by means of a flaw detection probe comprising a small-dia. search coil. CONSTITUTION:A yoke (magnetizer) 21 is made up to a yoke 22 and a magnetizing coil 23 is mounted with a mounting bolt 26 in a mounting recess 25 formed on a yoke support plate 24. A flaw detection probe 29 for detecting a leakage magnetic flux is provided on the yoke 21 as attachment. The frequency of a magnetization AC to energize the magnetizing coil 23 is set at a high pass of 6-12kHz while the diameter of a search coil 29A of the flaw detection probe 29 ranges 1-6mm. This can reduce a surface product of the search coil 29A to suppress a higher temperature of the search coil 29A as affected by heat generation of the yoke 21 thereby enabling a less permeation depth of a magnetic flux with the magnetization of the object to be inspected by a high- pass high frequency AC.
