Then, spark discharge is generated between each electrode of cutting tool 3 to which high voltage impulse voltage is applied and the workpiece 24. By energy generated by this discharge is evaporated and fused the working surface of workpiece 24, while the edge of cutting tool 3 cuts the workpiece 24.
