Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide highly accurate and efficient working of a workpiece worked in various machine tools by applying high voltage to an electrode provided on a cutting tool and the workpiece to generate high voltage discharge and simultaneously bake and cut the workpiece. CONSTITUTION:While a switch 29 of a high voltage electric converter 27 is turned on to drive a spindle 1 of a machine tool, a cutting tool 3 is fed in a workpiece 24 fixed to a table 22. Then, spark discharge is generated between each electrode of cutting tool 3 to which high voltage impulse voltage is applied and the workpiece 24. By energy generated by this discharge is evaporated and fused the working surface of workpiece 24, while the edge of cutting tool 3 cuts the workpiece 24. In said cutting, voltage is adjusted by a voltage adjusting dial 28 to adjust the material and working speed of workpiece to optimum voltage and permit satisfactory electric discharge machining.
