Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce background fog and to enhance image density by flash treating a combination of a specified pigment selected as a colorant and a specified resin and using it as the developer. CONSTITUTION:The liquid color developer for electrostatic photography is obtained by dispersing into a liquid medium a toner composed essentially of a binder resin and the colorant obtained by flash treating the pigment represented by formula I with a polyethylene wax having a softening point of 60-130 deg.C and an acid value of <=1.0mg KOH/g and an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer. In this formula I, A is groups of formula II, and M is Ba, Ca, Sr, and Mn, thus permitting background fog to be reduced, image density to be enhanced, and fixability and uniformity in solid state to be improved.
