Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a novel type of the title fiber which gives woven or knitted fabrics of high bulkiness, draping properties and dyeing uniformity, by specifying the amounts of the copolymerization component constituting the high shrinkage fiber and the low shrinkage fiber respectively as well as the spinning speed. CONSTITUTION:(A) A polyester containing 10-30mol.% of the 3rd copolymerization component is used as a polyester for making high shrinkage fibers, and (B) another polyester containing 10mol.% less amount of the component than the high shrinkage fiber polyester is used as a polyester for making the low shrinkage fibers. These polymers are simultaneously extruded out of the separated nozzles and taken up in a speed range of the equation [Vs is spinning speed (m/min); X is copolymerization mole fraction (%)] to give the objective fiber. The 3rd component for the component A is preferably isophthalic acid.
