Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a superconducting coil with very high critical temperature and critical current density by forming a flame-sprayed deposition layer by flame-spraying raw powder of Au-Cu-O and B-Cu-O on a base subjected to a processing of forming a spiral mask having a spiral opening, and heat-treating the resulting layer. CONSTITUTION:An A-Cu-O flame sprayed layer 3 is formed on a substrate 1 having a spiral mask formed using a metal tape 2 by spraying powder of CuO including A, on which layer a B-Cu-O flame sprayed layer 4 is formed by spraying raw powder of CuO including B. Then, a sprayed deposition layer 6 so formed is heat-treated to permit the Au-Cu-O sprayed layer 3 and the B-Cu-O sprayed layer 4 to react satisfactorily each other, whereby a superconducting coil 7 of an A-B-Cu-O oxide superconductor having a Perovskite structure is formed on the boundary therebetween. Here, A is selected among the periodic table IIIa group metal elements such as La, Ce, Y, Pr, Nd, Pm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, Sc, etc., while B among alkali earth metal elements such as Sr, Ba, Be, Mg, Ra, etc.
