Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to treat waste gases efficiently without installing a dust collecting tower, by employing a process, wherein cooling liquids and absorbing liquids are sprayed in an atomized state directly into waste gases so that humidification and cooling of the waste gases and collecting and removing of pollutants are simultaneously conducted. CONSTITUTION:In a reactor 1, waste gases are passed through a duct 7, introducing pips 2 and a duct 10, where cooling liquids (e.g. water) are sprayed from nozzles 8 in an atomized state directly into the waste gases, while absorbing liquids containing CaCO3 etc. is sprayed in an atomized state into said waste gases from nozzles 3 so that atomized cooling and absorbing liquids are brought into contact with the waste gases. Said waste gases together with fine particles of the cooling and absorbing liquids are introduced into an absorbing liquid 6 to be dispersed thereinto so as to form a jet bubbling layer A. Further, gases containing oxygen are introduced into the absorbing liquid to be dispersed threinto from nozzles 4 so as to form fine bubbles of said oxygen containing gases. As a result, environmental pollutants carried by the waste gases are removed efficiently without installing a duct collecting tower, which has conventionally been needed.
