Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate setting frequency intervals stably without increasing the size of an equipment by a method wherein the frequency of a reference laser device is scanned and a simple ethalon board is employed as a Fabry-Perot resonator and the Fabry-Perot resonator is employed as the reference of frequency intervals. CONSTITUTION:A series of reference pulses with time differences corresponding to frequency interval references determined by the free spectrum range of an optical resonator by coupling a reference laser device 1 whose frequency is scanned with the optical resonator. After the emitted light of the reference laser device 1 and the beat light of the emitted lights of a plurality of laser devices 8-10 which are objects to be controlled are detected by photodetectors 6 and 16, those light are let through low-pass filters to generate a series of pulses with time differences corresponding to the frequency intervals of a plurality of the laser devices 8-10 and the differences between the timings of generating the respective pulses constituting the pulse series and the timings of generating the corresponding pulses constituting the reference pulse series are used as error signals for control. With this constitution, the frequency intervals of any number of laser devices can be stabilized simultaneously and, more over, the size of the equipment can be reduced.
