Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a stable and highly accurate resistance value which is not changed with the passage of time by a method wherein, after a first trimming operation has been executed, this assembly is heat-treated at a temperature which is lower than a softening point of glass covering the surface of a thick-film printed resistor, it is cooled and, after that, a second trimming operation is executed. CONSTITUTION:An Ag-Pd conductor paste is coated on the surface of an alumina ceramic substrate 1 by a screen printing method; this assembly is baked in the air; electrodes 2, 2' are formed; after that, a Bi2RuO7-based resistor paste is coated by the screen printing method on one part of the surface of the electrodes 2, 2' and between the electrodes 2, 2' ; this assembly is baked in the ambient air; a thick-film printed resistor 3 is formed. A first trimming operation 5 is executed in a part of this thick-film printed resistor 3; then this assembly is heat-treated at a temperature which is lower than a softening point of glass covering the surface of the thick-film printed resistor 3; a resistance value is stabilized by this heat treatment; after that, a second trimming operation 6 is executed; a final target value is adjusted finely. By this setup, it is possible to obtain a stable and highly accurate resistance value which is not changed with the passage of time.
