Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled cosmetic, capable of being blended with a cosmetic with excellent safety and exhibiting humectant properties and inhibitory effects on tyrosinase activity and excellent thermal stability, etc., by blending an extract of Puerariae Radix containing respective specific amount of puerarin and saccharides in high concentrations with a cosmetic. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic, obtained by blending an extract of Puerariae Radix containing 20-40% puerarin expressed by the formula and saccharides in an amount of 20-45% expressed in terms of saccharose with a cosmetic and having the above-mentioned effects. Furthermore, isoflavone based compounds are hardly dissolved normally in water; however, a mixed solution of ethanol, water and 1,3-butylene glycol can be used to carry out blending of the above-mentioned extract with good safety. Thereby the afore-mentioned compound can be used for the whole cosmetics for the skin or hair. As a result, the cosmetic has effects on impartment of moistness to the skin or hair, prevention of drying and blackening of liver-spot or ephelis color, impartment of gloss to washed hair and hair growth effects, etc.
