Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance an air utilization factor as well as to improve the extent of combustion performance by installing a semispherical combustion chamber concavely in an eccentric position of the piston to, while setting up a fuel injection nozzle, having plural nozzle holes supplying fuel to each specific direction, at the side of a piston shaft center in the combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:In the top 2 of a piston 1, there is provided with each of main and sub combustion chambers 3 and 4 hollowed each in the axial direction in a parallel manner with the top face 2a as a criterion. And, each of these combustion chambers 3 and 4 is concavely installed in each eccentric position to a shaft center O1 of the piston 1. On the other hand, as for a fuel injection nozzle 7, two main nozzles 8 and 9 and one subnozzle 10 are installed each in a top of the nozzle body 7a at intervals in the circumferential direction. And, the main nozzle 8 on one side is adjoined to the combustion chamber 3 at the upstream side of a swirl flow Sa of combustion air to be led into the main combustion chamber 3 and at the side of the shaft center O1 of the piston 1. In addition, the main nozzle 9 on the other is adjoined to the more swirl downstream than a position where the other main nozzle 8 is adjoined.
