Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain metal powder having stable quality by constituting production apparatus for metal powder by controlling pressure in airtight vessel so that molten metal flowing rate from a tundish becomes constant and holding pressure in a storing vessel to constant. CONSTITUTION:In the airtight vessel 13 held to the inert gas atmosphere, the atomizing medium composing of organic solvent is injected against the molten metal 4 pouring from the tundish 2 and rapidly solidified to obtain the metal powder. Then, the metal powder and the atomizing medium are piled at lower part of the storing vessel 9 and taken out from the recovery valve 17 as slurry state to recover 26 the metal powder and to return the atomizing medium to a tank 16 for atomizing medium. In this process, when the molten metal level in the tundish 2 lowers, supply 104b of inert gas and exhausting gas 104d are respectively executed through a controller 103 with signal of a weight detector 102. Then, by controlling to the preset pressure with the molten metal level, the flowing rate of the molten metal 4 from the tundish 2 is controlled to constant regardless of the molten metal 4 level. Further, the pressure in the storing vessel 9 is held to the prescribed pressure and the particle distribution of the metal powder and oxygen content in the metal powder are stabilized.
