Abstract

CONSTITUTION:The slender guide bar 11 having diameter corresponding to neck diameter of the riser is stood at the position of the riser on the master pattern 5 in the mold. Next, after forming film 8 on the guide bar 11, the riser pattern 6 made of the lost foam pattern is fitted around the bar 11. Sand (aggregate) is filled in the mold and after film-forming on the upper face of the mold flask, air pressure in the mold is reduced. After that, by taking out the master patter 5 and the guide bar 11, the molding is completed. By this method, as the lost foam riser pattern is possessed at the standing part of the small riser hole in the mold, the riser 6 is miniaturized and the yield of the casting is improved. As the riser is formed as neck-down type, the man-hour for cutting the riser is reduced.
