Abstract
PURPOSE:To unify luminous intensity providing the flat type window plate of an electrically insulation material having high permeability, a back plate in parallel to the window plate, a divisional plate between the window plate and back plate, and a cooling medium on the external surface of the back plate. CONSTITUTION:A window plate 1 of square flat shape and a back plate 2 are connected to each other in such a way that a space between the peripheral edges thereof are air-tight via the external part 3a of a divisional plate 3, thereby forming an air- tight space between said window plate 1 and back plate 2. This air-tight space is divided with the divisional part 3b of the divisional plate 3 arranged in a staggered way therein at the predetermined intervals, thereby forming a narrow reversed bend discharge passage 5. Furthermore, a cooling medium 6 is fitted to the external surface of the back plate 2. According to the aforesaid construction, the luminescent face of a low voltage mercury lamp becomes flat and all generated rays are irradiated to the side of the window plate 1. Furthermore, the whole external surface of the back plate 2 can be exposed to cooling effect, thereby enabling the coldest part 7 to be formed at an arbitrary position. The occurrence of irregular luminous intensity distribution can be prevented.
