Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture a discharge lamp display device having a large screen by forming a phosphor layer, which has a predetermined pattern and which emits the light at various wavelengths, on an inner surface of a flat glass plate at a desirable position and providing plural spacers in a discharge space. CONSTITUTION: A discharge lamp display device is formed of a discharge container provided with a transparent glass member 10, which is formed of the same glass with a flat glass surface part 13 and which has the same height with a glass sealing part 14 and which has plural spacers 15 provided between the flat glass plate 12 and the flat glass surface part 13, discharge gas sealed in the discharge container, a phosphor layer 16 adhered to a predetermined position of an inner surface of the flat glass plate 12, a first electrode 22 formed in an outer surface of the glass flat plate 12, and a second electrode 20 formed in an outer surface of the glass member 10. With this structure, a flat discharge lamp display device having a large screen, which can be easily manufactured and of which lighting circuit is simplified and which can clearly display the information, can be obtained.
