Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the correct information on an arc and estimate the consumption rate of an electrode by calculating the electrode consumption rate based on the peak value of the main circuit current nearest to the completion time of the breaker operation. CONSTITUTION:The operation time T1, T2 of the unloaded cutoff and loaded cutoff are measured by a counter 54 based on the output signal of a command current detecting sensor 52 and the output signal of an operation position detecting sensor 50, and these measured values are sent to a data processing unit 57 via a digital input interface 56. The main circuit current value obtained by a converter 51 and peak-held by a peak holding circuit 53 is also sent to the data processing unit 57 via an analog input interface 55. The time T caused by the current cutoff is correctly determined by the program set in the processing unit 57, and the consumption of a breaker electrode is estimated. The correct information on an arc impossible to obtain so far can be thereby obtained, and the electrode consumption is estimated with a simple structure.
