Abstract

CONSTITUTION:The coil 4 of a current transformer is connected magnetically to a plasma circuit 1 in order to generate plasma in the plasma circuit 1. A high-temperature superconductive coil is employed for the coil 4 of the current transformer. A thyristor convertor 7 is operated at first and an electric power is supplied to the coil 4 of the current transformer, brought into superconductive state. After a current has arrived at a predetermined value, the bypass pair of the thyristor converter 7 is ignited and the terminals of DC output are short- circuited. When the coil 4 of the current transformer is transferred from superconduction into normal conduction, the current is attenuated suddenly and an induced voltage is generated in the plasma circuit 1 whereby a plasma current is conducted.
