Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to manufacture a superconductor on an organic substrate by forming a heat insulating layer of ceramic or glass on the organic substrate and heat-treating it. CONSTITUTION:A thin film-like heat insulating layer 3 made of a material having highly heat insulating property such as ceramic or glass is formed on the surface of a substrate 2 made of an organic material. Further on the surface of the layer 3 is applied an oxide-based superconducting material in the shape of a thin film to form a superconducting material layer 4. The layer 4 is then irradiated and heated with a condensed light beam or laser beam to make the layer 4 a superconductor. At the time of this heating, the substrate 2 is protected from a large amount of heat with a layer 3 provided between the layer 4 and the substrate 2 so that its components do not decompose or deform due to the heat. This makes it possible to manufacture the superconductor of excellent superconductivity with the organic substrate.
