PURPOSE:To obtain a laser device of relatively small-sized, simple constitution which has small power consumption by obtaining a laser beam outside the visible range and a visible laser beam as a guide light from one out-visible-range laser light source by using an SHG element, etc. CONSTITUTION:The laser beam R1 outside the visible range which is emitted by the out-visible-range laser light source 1 is made incident on a 2nd higher harmonic generating element (SHG element) 3 through a coupler 2 and part of this incident beam is visualized. A shield means 4 is put in proper mode to project the laser beam R1 outside the visible range on a body 9 to be irradiated optionally. The laser beams R1 and R2 inside and outside the visible range are projected on the body 9 to be irradiated through a coupler 5, a waveguide 6, and an optical system 8. At this time, the visible-range laser light R2 is used as guide light which projects a specific position of the body 9 to be irradiated. Thus, the SHG element is utilized to obtain a simple, good-efficiency laser device.
