Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of KANA (Japanese syllabary)-KANJI (Chinese character) conversion by providing learning information deciding the order of output of homophones of a ROM dictionary and a file dictionary so as to attain priority order learning between the ROM dictionary and the file dictionary. CONSTITUTION:Three KANJI notations (in figure, 3, 1 and 4) are stored as 'go' (6) are stored in the ROM dictionary with respect to the monophone 'go' as examples of KANJI notation of the monophony with the KANA header. Two KANJI notations (in figure, 2 and 5) as 'go' (6) are stored in the file dictionary with respect to the monophony in KANJI notation examples of KANA header. Moreover, as a concrete example of the priority learning information with respect to KANA header the priority of O2, F8, O1, O3, F8 is placed onto the monophone 'go' and they are outputted according to the priority learning information. The priority is to be replaced by having only to rewrite the content of the priority in the priority learning information.

Traditionally, this type of learning method has been carried out by rewriting the contents of user registered dictionaries and field-specific dictionaries stored in files, and when converting kana-kanji using a ROM dictionary in combination, homophones can be found in the ROM dictionary. After the contents, the contents of the file dictionary were output, or the dictionary was selected by keystrokes, and then the kana-kanji conversion was performed using each dictionary.

In the conventional method described above, the ROMized dictionary and the file dictionary are viewed separately, and it is not possible to learn the priority order of homophones across both, resulting in poor kana-kanji conversion efficiency. Furthermore, switching dictionaries by key operation requires being aware of which dictionary contains the word to be converted, which is troublesome.

The present invention provides a kana-kanji conversion learning method in a device that performs kana-kanji conversion by using a ROMized kana-kanji conversion dictionary and a writable kana-kanji conversion dictionary, giving priority to the output of homophones through both dictionaries for each kana heading. It has ranking information and means for outputting kanji notation according to the priority ranking.

〔実施例〕〔Example〕

次に、本発明について図面を参照して説明する。 Next, the present invention will be explained with reference to the drawings.

Figure 1 shows the format of priority learning information for kana headings, and for each kana heading identified by ID, the homonym numbers 1 to n (n = 01 u to F7u) in the ROM dictionary and the corresponding one in the file dictionary. A code (F8M>) indicating the existence of a homophone is stored.

1 to n are priority orders, and if the number 1 of a homophone in the ROM dictionary is stored, the word with that number in the ROM dictionary is output first. The same holds true up to number n.

Further, if a code (F8H) indicating the existence of a homophone in the file dictionary is stored in 1 to n, the word in the file dictionary is output in that order. Thereafter, each time a code indicating the existence of a homophone in the file dictionary appears, the words in the file dictionary are output in order from the beginning.

As explained above, the present invention enables priority learning after a homophone across the ROM dictionary and file dictionary by providing learning information that determines the output order after a homophone between the ROM dictionary and the file dictionary. This has the effect of improving the efficiency of kana-kanji conversion and eliminating the hassle of having to switch between the two dictionaries using key operations.
