Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 この発明は、細長い対象物の周りをカラー状にして取り
囲み、両端をつないだ後対象物に熱を加えると収縮する
熱収縮架橋合成樹脂から成るテープに関する。
電気ケーブル又は導体の結合個所を事後処理として絶縁
し、被覆するには、従来結合個所に押し込み、次いでそ
の結合個所で収縮させえ筑チューブが使用されて来た。
既に接続してある電気ケーブルの結合個所を後処理で被
覆又は絶縁するには、熱収縮する合成樹脂のカラーを通
す。このカラーは、テープでその結合個所の周りを取り
囲み、そのカラーの長手方向の端部をつなぎ、次いで結
合個所上で熱収縮させる。長手方向の端部をつなぐには
、例えば圧着端子、又は重ねた両端部を貼付けている(
西独特許第1525815号公報)。
そのようなジヨイントの長手方向の切れ目に補助的な封
止を行うため、カラーで貼付けできる継ぎ板又は切れ端
も取り付ける。
そのようなジヨイントに分岐を作るには、カラーを形成
するテープを収縮させる前に分岐した導体の中間でベン
チによって留めている。
これ等従来の構成では、次の欠点がある。即ち、圧着端
子及びこの圧着端子の噛い込みに必要なカラーの端部硬
化によって硬めた継ぎ目にいろいろな乱れが生じる。他
の欠点は、ケーブル、又は円管又は導体の長い間隔をそ
のようなカラーでっ5はぎ、又は連続して取り囲むこと
はできないことにある。
従って、この発明の課題は、例えば圧着端子のような付
加的な封止部品なしにケーブル又は円管又は導体のまわ
りを取り巻き、更に長いケーブル又は円管又は導体を連
続的に被覆するのに適したテープを提供することにある
この課題は、接続しようとするテープの端部が架橋して
いない合成樹脂から成り、端部の接続を溶着で行うこと
によって解決されている。この発明により、収縮させる
前に必要な端部の固定を溶着で行える。溶着継ぎ目の機
械的強度が高いことの外に、圧着端子で保持してあるが
、又は塞いである継ぎ目に較べて、溶着継ぎ目は湿気の
進入に対してはるかに気密であることにある。端部を架
橋していない合成樹脂で形成することは、架橋する合成
樹脂では溶着できないから、どうしても必要である。溶
着継ぎ目に対する材料が充分あるので、テープの厚さに
較べて端部を厚くすると効果的であることが分かる。こ
の厚くした端部は、それどころか引き伸ばし工程で引き
伸ばせる利点がある。テープ用の材料としては、大体ど
んな架橋合成樹脂でも使用できる。しかしながら、シラ
ンリエチレンは機械的な経費を余りかけないで容易に架
橋することができる。溶着継ぎ目の領域も架橋してある
ことは、例えば必要になると、この要求は端部を過酸化
物で架橋できるポリエチレンで形成して、達成できる。
溶着継ぎ目は、溶着後架橋剤、即ちこの場合過酸化物を
活性化する補助加熱によって架橋される。テープの表面
の少なくとも一部を、それ自体は公知であるように、気
密剤、防腐剤及び/又は接着剤で覆う。このテープは端
切れにして押し出すと効果的である。
この発明は、更に上に述べたテープを作製する方法にも
関する。この方法は以下の点で優れている。架橋合成樹
脂のテープを押し出し機と、幅決めノズルとして形成さ
れている型決め工具によって押し、型決め工具の内のテ
ープの長手方向の両端部で、それぞれテープの合成樹脂
とは異なる合成樹脂の一つから成る縁取りを型を決め、
テープの合成樹脂を架橋し、この場合縁取りによって形
成されたテープの端部を架橋しないままに保ち、架橋し
た後、このテープを軟化温度以上の温度に加熱し、テー
プの長手方向に垂直に引き伸ばし、次いで引き伸ばした
状態に保って冷却することにある。この発明による方法
の助けによって、長手方向に収縮するテープを、殆ど無
限に長く作製することができる。湿気がある場合には、
架橋を行うと効果的であって、それには、シランを充満
したポリエチレンを使用する必要がある。テープの端部
を厚さに比べて大きくして押し出し、連続引き伸ばし工
程でのつかみシロとして又は付加溶着材料として使用さ
れる。この場合、伸張機によって端部をテープに必要な
引っ張り力を付加できるようにするため冷却する。テー
プの製造方法は、湿度架橋合成樹脂に限定するものでは
なく、高エネルギー輻射によって架橋される合成樹脂に
対しても、同じように導入できる。この場合、架橋して
いる期間、テープの端部をシールドしているので、架橋
しない。
上記の方法は、長さの長いテープを作製し、テープ幅が
できるかぎり大きいものを作り、そのため余り多くの型
決め工具を必要としないときに、効果的である。複雑な
形状、即ち、例えばT型片、あるいは湾曲している接続
片、あるいはまた、接続継ぎ目が押し出し装置又は収縮
装置に対して垂直あるいは一定の角度にして持ち込む必
要のある場合の形状を作製するためには、この前記の方
法は導入できない。
上記の目的に対し、以下のようにして優れた方法を提掲
している。即ち、接続用にある端部で、架橋する前に押
し出し又は射出成形によってテープを作製した後、線状
の合成樹脂は溶着によって成形される。テープの合成樹
脂を架橋し、この場合、線状に形成したテープの端部は
架橋してないままになっている。架橋後、このテープを
軟化温度以上に加熱し1、溶着する線条の長手方向に垂
直に引き伸ばし、引き伸ばした状態で冷却する。かくし
て、例えば、溶着のできる端部を有する十字状の切れ端
を作製できる。この切れ端は、例えばT型分岐を作製す
るために必要である。この処置では、比較的経費のかか
る二つの押し出し設備を同じように無視できる。
この場合、架橋は、加湿作用又は活性化輻射で同様に行
うと効果的である。
合成樹脂の線条は、押し出しテープの場合、テープを押
し出し口から出した後直接溶着させることができる。し
かしながら、合成樹脂のテープを通常の技術で作製し、
後で合成樹脂の線条を取り付けることのできる可能性も
ある。この処方は、溶着のできる合成樹脂を有する比較
的幅の狭いテープのとき、特に有利である。この場合に
は、先ずテープをより広い幅に押し出し、このテープを
縦に分割し、長手方向の端部で合成樹脂線条を溶着する
と有利である。切れ端を作製するときには、この切れ端
を押し出ししたテープから裁断するか、打抜き、接続用
端部で合成樹脂を溶着すると効果的である。この場合、
裁断線又は打抜き線を押し出しテープの長手方向に対し
て90°より小さい角度、主に45°にするとおおくの
使用例で有利である。この処置は、特にテープを長手方
向に伸びた比較的単純な品物に取り巻くために使用する
ときに有利である。裁断線ないしは打抜き線に角度を付
けること、及びテープを押し出し方向に伸ばすことは、
溶着継ぎ目を同じように収縮方向に一定角度にすると言
う結果になる。かくして溶着継ぎ目に無理がかかるか、
又は溶着継ぎ目の効率が上昇する。
この発明は、更に特許請求の範囲の一つ又はそれ以上の
請求項によるテープを使用して長手方向に伸びた品物に
対して外被を作製する方法に関している。この場合、テ
ープは、カラーのようにして対象物の周りを取り囲み、
端部で溶着され、最後に収縮させられる。従って、溶着
は、反射溶着で行うと有利である。反射溶着の場合には
、溶着しようとするテープの端部は、加熱した工具、例
えば舌片又は反射炉によって、軟化温度にされ、軟化領
域が硬化するまで圧接される。カラー又は外被の周囲を
全て架橋するためには、端部を溶着の間又は後架橋する
。この場合、既に述べたように、過酸化物の架橋できる
合成樹脂から作製した端部を押し出すと有利である。
この発明は、更に、連続して長手方向に伸びる品物を連
続的に被覆する方法にも関している。この場合、貯蔵ロ
ーラによって引き出されるテープは連続的に長手方向に
伸びる品物の周りで切れ目を入れる管に入れて成形し、
長手方向の端部で溶着し、溶着後、収縮させる。特に有
利なことは、上記の方法は波型金属管に巻きつけるのに
利用させてくれるからである。ここで、収縮は、テープ
材が金属管の波形にほぼ従うように行われる。外周に巻
き付けられた金属管に対して、金属製波型管の可撓性は
付加的な合成樹脂の外被によって実際上回にも制約され
ない利点がある。上り易い合成樹脂の外被を波型管の波
状の山のところで押し出す従来技術で作製される外周が
覆われた波型管では、可撓性は非常に強く制約される。
外被の表面をきれいにするには、溶着後、溶着継ぎ目の
領域にあるちり上がり部分を取り除き、その後この外被
を金属製波型管の上で収縮させると有利である。この発
明の他の対象物は、この発明によるテープを使用した各
種のジヨイントにある。分岐ジヨイントの場合、ジヨイ
ントは二つのテープからできていて、両テープは長手方
向の端部を溶着してある。この分岐は、溶着継ぎ目の一
定の長さをもう一度溶着して形成される。T型の分岐ジ
ヨイントの場合には、ジヨイントは十字状のテープから
作製してあり、このテープはT型ジヨイントに置かれ、
接線で溶着してある。二重T型分岐ジヨイントは同じ十
字状テープを二つ重ね合わせ、ケーブル又は導体又は管
の長手方向の接触端部で溶着されると言うことで優れて
いる。
この発明を第1図から第13図に模式的に示した実施例
に基づき、詳しく説明する。
第1図には、中間領域2が架橋されていて、端部分3a
及び3bが架橋されていない合成樹脂製テープが示して
ある。中間領域2は、シランを詰め、湿度があると架橋
するポリエチレンからできていると効果的である。端部
3aと3bは、同じように溶着後、又は溶着している開
端部3aと3bの架橋が可能な過酸化物を付加してある
ポリエチレン製である。
第2図は、被覆しようとする対象物4の断面を示してい
る。この対象物はテープ1でくるんである。端部3aと
3bは接合部5で溶着してある。
端部3aと3bを溶着した後、中間領域2でたれ下がっ
ているテープ1を被覆対象物4の周りで収縮させる。
第3図及び第4図は、溶着継ぎ目5の別な実施形状を示
す。第3図による実施例では、テープの端部を上に引き
上げである、この個所を通して、溶着継ぎ目5は、いろ
いろな材料を自由にできる。
端部3aと3bの溶着継ぎ目5と逆の表面は圧接ローラ
に対するつかみシロを形成する。
第4図の実施例では、端部3aと3bはテープ1で橋状
になっていて、この場合でも、溶着継ぎ目5とは逆の端
部3aと3bの表面は、圧接ローラのつかみシロの役目
をする。
第5図及び第6図は、平面図にしてテープ1の作製を模
式的に示したものである。−台の押出し機6と一台の押
出し機7から成り、合成樹脂を共通の吸い口8、即ち横
幅を定める切り口に案内する共通押出し場所によって、
中間領域2及び端部3aと3bから成るテープ1を押し
出し、冷却し、巻取り機9に巻き取る。それから、巻取
り機9に巻き取ったテープlは、架橋される。湿度によ
って架橋するポリエチレンの場合には、巻取り機9は、
水滴に満ちた炉の中に導入され、そこで数時間を保持さ
れる。それから、架橋したテープlは、巻取り機9から
連続的に巻き外され、第1段階Aでは、合成樹脂の溶融
温度以上の温度まで加熱され、第2段階Bでは、連続的
にテープ1の長手方向に対して垂直に伸長され、第3段
階Cでは、引き伸ばされた状態で冷却される。引き伸ば
し、冷却したテープ1は、それから図示してない巻取り
機に再度巻き取られるか、所望の形状に引き伸ばされる
第7図は、金属製の波型管10を架橋材料の合成樹脂テ
ープで連続的に被せる方法を模式的に示している。しか
し、この場合、連続的に案内する金属製波型管10の外
に、上り円管も大切である。
貯蔵巻取り機11によって引き込まれたテープlは切れ
目を入れる管に導入して成形され、反射溶着機12で端
部を溶かし、図示していない溶着装置を離れて行く。後
置加熱装置13によって、過酸化物が分解し、溶着継ぎ
目5の合成樹脂及び境目を架橋させる程度に溶着継ぎ目
5を加熱する。
このように巻き付けられた管は連続炉14に導入される
。この炉の中で、合成樹脂のテープは収縮温度にされ、
波型管10の波形をこの波型管10の上に形成する。
第8図は、射出成形によって十字状に作製されたたるみ
のあるテープの平面図である。架橋していない合成樹脂
の端部3aと3bは射出成形時に一緒に形成される。図
示したテープは、2袖、即ち、交差する帯の形状に沿う
垂直な二つの軸方向に伸びている。このようなテープは
、T型分岐接続を作製するために挿入されるもので、こ
のテープをT型分岐の周りに巻き付け、両端3a、3b
で溶着する。溶着が終了すると、上に述べたように、収
縮させる。テープ2の伸長は、十字を形成している帯の
中間領域2を断面で見たとき半円状に伸ばすことによっ
ても達成できる(第8a図参照)。2重T型分岐を作製
するには、第8図又は第8a図に示したテープ1を2枚
2重T型分岐の上に置き、両端3aと3bを溶着して最
終に収縮させる。
第9図は、例えば通信技術でケーブルを分岐するために
使用されるように、分岐ジヨイントを示している。二枚
の個別テープlで作製されるテープは、長手方向の端部
3aと3bを溶着して作製されているが、このテープを
見えない分岐個別のまわりに巻き付け、未だ溶着してい
ない長手方向の端部3aと3b(第9図で、上面にある
)のところで溶着する。分岐の部分では、テープを付け
るとき生じる溶着継ぎ目を、場所15で示してあるよう
に、互いに溶着し、最後に、この分岐ジヨイントを収縮
させる。現場で溶着継ぎ目を作る場合のように、溶着継
ぎ目15も電気、又はガス加熱反射炉で作られる。
第1O図には、架橋できる合成樹脂の押し出し成型され
たテープから平行四辺形に裁断又は打抜きした切れ端2
1が示してある。裁断端部22と23は端部24と29
の向きに対し45°の角度をなすと効果的である。裁断
端部22と23のところで、合成樹脂の縁取り25と2
6を、主に反射炉溶着で付ける。このように準備した切
れ端21は、次に架橋される。この場合、合成樹脂の縁
取り25と26は、架橋しないままにしてある。
架橋した後、この切れ端21を合成樹脂の軟化温度以上
の温度に加熱し、矢印の方向に引き伸ばす。
この引き伸ばした状態で、切れ端21を冷却する。
次いで、切れ端21を、第11図に示してあるように、
長手方向に伸びた品物27のまわりに巻き付け、合成樹
脂の縁取り25と26が互いに境になり、らせん状に長
手方向に伸びた品物27の中心軸の周りを取り巻いてい
る。この合成樹脂の糸25と26は、それから、例えば
反射溶着によって溶着される。合成樹脂のテープ21を
加熱して、このテープを長手方向に伸びた品物27の上
面で収縮する。合成樹脂の縁取り25と26の間の溶着
継ぎ目が収縮力の方向に対して45°の角度をなしてい
るので、この溶着継ぎ目に負荷が加わらない。合成樹脂
のテープ21の架橋材のところで調整するため、端部の
縁取り25と26を収縮の前又は後で同じように架橋で
きる。このことは、例えば、合成樹脂のテープに対する
材料として、湿度のある場合架橋できるシランを詰めた
ポリエチレンを使用するか、放射能で架橋できる材料を
使用し、合成樹脂の縁取り25と26に対する材料とし
ては、過酸化物の分解温度以上の温度に上昇させて架橋
でき過酸化物の架橋できる合成樹脂を使用するこの場合
、低い温度で分解する過酸化物又は他の遊離基起動剤を
入れる。
第12図は、この発明の考えにより作製された切れ端に
対する他の実施例を示している。押し出し成形されたテ
ープから十字状の切れ端21が打抜き又は裁断される。
この切れ端の端部で、未だ架橋されていない状態にある
合成樹脂の縁取り25.25a、26.26aが溶着さ
れる。このような切れ端は、例えば軸Aのまわりで折り
返し、T字型分岐に変形され、端部25と26及び25
aと26aを溶着することができる。この種のT型片は
、円管導体構造、又はT型分岐の収縮用下地にも使用さ
れる。
第13図は、多数の腕28を有し、その端部に合成樹脂
の縁取り25と26が溶着されている切れ端2Iに対す
る他の実施例を示している。この切れ端21を軸Aのま
わりで折り返し、多数のT型分岐を連続配列した構造を
造り出すことができる。この種の収縮用切れ端は、例え
ば自動制御ないしは一般的な電気設備に使用されている
ような謂るケーブルの収縮に使用できる。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1)カラーのように長手方向に延びた対象物の周りに巻
    き付け、端部を接続した後対象物に熱を加えて収縮させ
    ることのできる熱収縮架橋合成樹脂製のテープにおいて
    、接続しようとする端部(3a、3b、25、26)が
    架橋しない合成樹脂から成り、端部の接続は溶着によっ
    て行われることを特徴とするテープ。 2)端部(3a、3b、25、26)はテープの厚さ(
    2、21)より厚いことを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第
    1項記載のテープ。 3)テープ(2、21)はシラン類を充満した架橋ポリ
    エチレンから成り、端部(3a、3b、25、26)は
    架橋されていないポリエチレンから成ることを特徴とす
    る特許請求の範囲第1項又は第2項記載のテープ。 4)端部(3a、3b、25、26)は過酸化物で架橋
    できるポリエチレンから成ることを特徴とする特許請求
    の範囲第1〜3項のいずれか1項に記載のテープ。 5)テープ(1、2、21)の少なくとも一方の表面は
    、気密剤、防腐剤、及び/又は接着剤で覆ってあること
    を特徴とする特許請求の範囲第1〜4項のいずれか1項
    に記載のテープ。 6)テープ(1、2、21)は、端切れにして押し出さ
    れていることを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第1〜5項の
    いずれか1項に記載のテープ。 7)架橋できる合成樹脂から成るテープは、押出し機と
    幅決めのノズルとして形成されている形決め工具によっ
    て押し出され、形決め工具の中で、テープの長手端部に
    は、それぞれテープの合成樹脂とは異なる合成樹脂から
    成る線条を形成し、テープの合成樹脂を架橋し、この場
    合線条で形成されたテープの端部は架橋されないままに
    なっていて、架橋後、テープを軟化点以上の温度に加熱
    し、テープの長手方向に垂直に引き伸ばし、次いで引き
    伸ばした状態で冷却することを特徴とするテープの製造
    方法。 8)架橋は、湿度のあるときに行われることを特徴とす
    る特許請求の範囲第7項記載の製造方法。 9)テープの端部をテープの厚さに較べて厚くして押し
    出し、端部が連続引き伸ばし工程でつかみシロの領域と
    して使用されることを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第7項
    又は第8項記載のテープ。 10)架橋できる合成樹脂製のテープを押し出し、この
    合成樹脂を幅射線で架橋し、この場合、テープの端部を
    シールドして架橋させないでおき、上記テープを合成樹
    脂の軟化点以上の温度に加熱し、テープの長手方向に垂
    直に引き伸ばし、引き伸ばした状態で冷却することを特
    徴とする製造方法。 11)架橋する前に押し出し、又は射出成形でテープを
    作製した後、接続用の端部で線条の合成樹脂材が、溶着
    によって取り付けられ、テープの合成樹脂を架橋し、そ
    の場合、線条が形成するテープの端部は架橋しないまま
    にしてあり、架橋後、テープを軟化点以上の温度に加熱
    し、溶着した線条の長手方向に垂直に引き伸ばし、次い
    で引き伸ばした状態で冷却することを特徴とするテープ
    の作製方法。 12)テープを押し出しで作成する場合、テープが舌部
    から出て来た後、直接長手方向の端部で合成樹脂線条を
    溶着することを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第11項記載
    の製造方法。 13)テープを広い幅にして押し出し、このテープを長
    手方向で分割し、端部で合成樹脂の線条を溶着すること
    を特徴とする特許請求の範囲第11項記載の製造方法。 14)切れ端を押し出しされたテープから裁断又は打ち
    抜き、接合用端部で合成樹脂線条を溶着することを特徴
    とする特許請求の範囲第11項記載の製造方法。 15)裁断線又は打抜き線は、押し出しテープの長手方
    向又は収縮方向に対して、90°より小さい角度、主と
    して45°の傾きを呈することを特徴とする特許請求の
    範囲第14項記載の製造方法。 16)対象物の周りにカラー状にテープを巻き付け、端
    部で溶着し、最後に収縮させること特徴とする長手方向
    に伸びている品物用の外被を作製する方法。 17)溶着は反射溶着で行われることを特徴とする特許
    請求の範囲第16項記載の外被作製法。 18)溶着の間又は後で、端部が架橋されることを特徴
    とする特許請求の範囲第16項又は第17項記載の外被
    作製法。 19)貯蔵用巻き取機で引き取られるテープは、連続的
    に長手方向に伸びている品物の周りで切断管に形成され
    、長手方向の端部で溶着され、溶着後、収縮されること
    を特徴とする連続して長手方向に伸びる品物を連続して
    被覆する方法。 20)長手方向に伸びる品物として、波状の金属円管が
    使用され、収縮は、テープ材が金属円管の波形形状にほ
    ぼ一致するように行われることを特徴とする特許請求の
    範囲第19項記載の被覆方法。 21)溶着後、溶着継ぎ目の領域にある肥厚部を外し、
    その後に収縮させることを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第
    16〜20項のいずれか1項に記載の方法。 22)ジョイントは、長手方向の端部(3a、3b)で
    互いに丸く溶着してある二つのテープ(1)から成り、
    分岐は、再度溶着した個所(15)によって一定の長さ
    の溶着継ぎ目を形成していることを特徴とするケーブル
    、又は導体用の分岐ジョイント。 23)ジョイントは、T字状の分岐にして設置してあり
    、接線(3a、3b)で溶着してある十字状のテープ(
    1)から形成してあることを特徴とするケーブル又は導
    体用T字型分岐ジョイント。 24)二つの同一な十字状テープを重ね合わせ、ケーブ
    ル又は導体の長手方向にある接触端部で溶着してあるこ
    とを特徴とする二重T型分岐ジョイント。
