The opera window 1 is attached to the rear side of the automobile as shown in FIG.
As shown in the figure, it consists of a transparent glass plate 2 and a frame 3 made of hard synthetic resin around the outer periphery of the glass plate 2.
The frame 3 clamps and fixes the glass plate 2, and a boss or the like (not shown) for attachment to the vehicle body is formed on the back surface of the frame 3.

As a method for manufacturing such an opera window, as shown in FIG. 3, a glass plate 2 is held between injection molding molds having a cavity mold 4 and a core mold 5.
The frame 3 is formed by injecting hard molten resin into the space 6 formed by the above.

However, in such conventional manufacturing methods, when the glass plate 2 is held between the injection molding molds, the glass plate may be damaged or molten resin may leak between the glass plate and the core mold and the cavity mold, causing burrs. There were problems such as having to manually remove the burrs to prevent them from forming.

In this invention, a sealing and buffering member made of an elastic material such as rubber and molded into a substantially U-shaped cross section is attached to the outer peripheral edge of a glass plate, and then placed in an injection molding die and clamped. The purpose of this invention is to solve the above-mentioned problems by making cuts in the sealing/buffering member along the inner peripheral edge of the molded frame and removing the remaining buffering member.

An embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail below based on the drawings. Figure 4 shows the glass plate 2 of the opera window.
In the front view, it is shaped like a roughly triangular plate whose width gradually increases from the top to the bottom.
FIG. 5 shows a state in which a sealing material/buffer member 7 made of rubber or soft synthetic resin and having a substantially U-shaped cross section is attached to the entire outer periphery of the glass plate 2 so as to cover both sides of the glass plate. 6 is a front view, and FIG. 6 is a sectional view taken along line AA in FIG. 5. In FIG. 6, the cushioning material 7 is integrally formed with a side portion 71 that covers the side edge of the glass plate, and an upper surface portion 72 and a lower surface portion 73 that cover both sides, and the width of the upper surface portion 72 and the lower surface portion 73 is the width of the frame. It is made wider than the inner peripheral surface width.

The glass plate with the buffer member attached to its outer edge is then placed in an injection molding die as shown in FIG. The injection molding mold is composed of a cavity mold 4 and a core mold 5, as in the conventional case, and is configured to be able to sandwich the glass 2 with a cushioning material 7 interposed therebetween. That is, the protrusion 41 of the cavity mold 4
The gap when both molds of the core mold protrusion 51 and the core mold protrusion 51 are closed is:
The thickness is set to be slightly smaller than the sum of the thickness of the glass plate 2 and the thickness of the upper surface portion 72 and lower surface portion 73 of the cushioning material 7.

In this state, molten hard synthetic resin such as ABS resin is injected through the gate G into the space formed by the cavity mold 4, the core mold 5, and the outer periphery of the glass plate 2, thereby forming the frame. 3 is formed. In addition, in the figure, P indicates an ejector pin. After the molten resin has solidified, open the mold, take out the opera window, and make a cut in the cushioning material with a sharp knife or the like along the inner peripheral edge 31 of the frame 3 as shown in FIG. 9. The opera window is completed by removing the remaining cushioning material 73.

As explained above, in the method for manufacturing an automobile opera window according to the present invention, when forming the frame portion 3 by injection molding, a cushioning material made of a material having elasticity like rubber is applied to the entire outer periphery of the glass plate 2. Since the molten resin is injected to form the frame by intervening and clamping the mold, the cushioning material functions as a seal and can prevent the occurrence of burrs due to resin leakage. Additionally, since the cushioning material is made of a soft material with high elasticity, such as rubber, the remaining cushioning material can be easily removed by making cuts with a knife or the like after the frame is formed. .

In this example, the cushioning material 7 is formed to have a substantially U-shaped cross section, but the shape is not necessarily limited to the U-shape. For example, two sheets of flat cushioning material may be prepared, and adhesive Alternatively, it may be fixed to the outer periphery of the glass plate with adhesive or the like.
