Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a homogeneous leathery sheet and prevent loss of flexibility on the surface thereof, by kneading dried hide powder with a thermoplastic resin compound, hot-molding the resultant kneaded blend and forming a decorative film from a pigment and binder on the surface of the formed sheet. CONSTITUTION:Dried hide powder 2 having 50-250 mesh particle size is kneaded with a thermoplastic resin compound prepared by blending plasticizer, stabilizer, filler, additive, etc., in a thermoplastic resin 3, e.g. vinyl chloride, etc., at 30-70:70-30 weight ratio (%) of the dried hide powder to the thermoplastic resin compound and hot-molding the resultant blend to form a sheet 1. A decorative film 4 consisting of a binder, e.g. casein, etc., and a pigment or dye is formed on the surface of the sheet 1. As a result, the sheet provides a homogenous leathery sheet 1 and the decorative film 4 will neither peel nor lose flexiblity.

(Problem to be Solved by the Invention) However, the surface (2) of leather A has an epidermal part, and as shown in Figure 3, there are sebum lines, pores, etc., so that complex deep and shallow uneven parts B are formed. Therefore, in order to form a uniform surface film, it was necessary to apply a base coat, top coat, makeup coat, etc. to form a thick film.

Also, during this time, it is necessary to perform drying, ironing, pressing, etc., which requires a considerable amount of time and effort, which increases the cost, and also causes the leather to lose its characteristics, such as enamel finishes, and furthermore, the leather expands and contracts due to dryness, humidity, temperature, and temperature. This causes various problems such as wrinkles and cracks in the surface film, or peeling of the surface film and the leather.

(Function) The leather-like sheet configured as described above has lubricity because the dried leather powder 2 is fine particles consisting of 50 to 250 meshes of protein and lipid, and blends well with the thermoplastic resin 3, making it easy to treat. The sheet 1 is heated and molded to become a homogeneous leather-like sheet 1, and its surface is smooth, so the decorative film can be thin. Even if the sheet becomes wet due to humidity or the like, the decorative film 4 does not peel off.

(Example) Fig. 1 shows a leather-like sheet according to the present invention, 2 is leather powder, 3 is a thermoplastic resin, and the leather powder 2 is obtained by crushing leather, leather scraps, etc. in an extremely dry state. Fine particles of 250 to 250 mesh, or leather powder with a moisture content of 3% or less generated by sanding leather;
A thermoplastic resin compound in which plasticizers, stabilizers, fillers, additives, etc. are mixed into the thermoplastic resin 3 such as vinyl chloride is kneaded at a weight ratio of 70 to 30%, and then calender roll, extrusion, injection. A sheet 1 is formed by a molding machine or the like, and a cosmetic film 4 made of a binder such as casein or synthetic resin and a pigment or dye is formed on the surface of the sheet 1. Other polishing agents such as wax may be mixed into the decorative film 4. In this embodiment, a resin skin layer 3a made of the thermoplastic resin 3 is formed on the surface of the sheet 1 when it is molded, and a decorative film 4 is formed thereon by painting.

FIG. 2 shows a resin skin layer 3a on one side of the sheet 1.
Wash paper, cloth, or both are press-fused or bonded as reinforcing fabric 5 to make the sheet 1 strong against tension, etc., and after sanding the other side to remove the resin skin layer 3a, makeup is applied. A film 4 is formed on that surface.

In addition to leather powder 2 and thermoplastic resin 3, sheet 1 is further mixed with natural fibers such as hemp, cotton, wool, etc. or synthetic fibers such as polyester, nylon, vinylon, etc., and molded.
In order to impart strength to the sheet 1, the surface of the sheet 1 may be provided with leather grains using grain rolls.

(Effects) The leather-like sheet according to the present invention is kneaded and heat-formed with a weight ratio of 30 to 70% dry leather powder of 50 to 250 mesh and 70 to 30% of thermoplastic resin powder. The leather powder is formed homogeneously due to its slipperiness, and the surface is smooth, so the decorative film formed on the surface can be finished evenly and evenly even if it is a thin layer, so the amount of material required for the film is small. The surface does not lose its flexibility due to the cosmetic film.
