Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title molding material which can give a lacquer were molding meeting the requirements of the Food Sanitation Law, excelling in moldability, paintability, and appearance and having a texture like 'hinoki', by adding a specified amount of a hinoki flour to a phenolic resin. CONSTITUTION:40-60wt.% 'hinoki' flour obtained by grinding hinoki and preferably having a water content of 5-18wt.% and such a particle size that all of the particles can pass through a No.4 Tyler screen is mixed with a novolac, resol or modified phenolic resin and, optionally, 5-15pts.wt., per 100pts. wt. resin, curing agent (e.g., haxamine).

The picture book powder used in the present invention is obtained by crushing cypress wood, and must contain 11% of the total amount. That is, if it is less than %, a sufficient picture essence cannot be given, and if it exceeds %, moldability, paintability, and appearance deteriorate. The particle size of the picture book powder is preferably such that it can be passed through a No. 4 tiller sieve. i.e. 4
This is because the particle size remaining on the sieve with a No. 1 tiller sieve tends to deteriorate the appearance of the molded product and reduce its commercial value after painting. Further, the water content in the picture book powder is preferably 5 to 18%. That is, if it is less than 5%, the flow during molding will decrease, and if it exceeds 18%, the appearance of the molded product will deteriorate. Regarding phenolic resins, novohook type resins are obtained by mixing phenols such as phenol, cresol, and xylene-y alone or in mixtures with formaldehydes such as formalin and buff formaldehyde in a predetermined molar ratio and reacting them under an acidic catalyst. Although phenolic resins, resol type phenolic resins obtained by reaction under an alkaline catalyst, or phenolic resins modified with these molasses, lignin, naphthalene, xylene, petroleum aromatic hydrocarbons, etc. can be used, novohook type phenolic resins can also be used. When using C, hexamine is added as a curing agent in an amount of 5 to 15 parts per 100 parts by weight of the resin (hereinafter simply referred to as parts). In addition to the phenol resin, curing agent, and picture book powder, inorganic fillers, mold release agents, coloring agents, etc. are added as necessary, mixed, mixed, crushed, and further granulated as necessary to produce a phenolic resin molding material. A molded product for lacquerware is obtained by heating and press-molding the phenolic resin molding material by any means such as compression molding, transformer 2A molding, injection molding, extrusion molding, or the like.
