Abstract

PURPOSE:To uniformly disperse hollow fibers in a housing by a simple means, by allowing a small amount of a temporary sealant to be present on the bottom surface part of a cup-shaped member to temporarily fix and to fill the terminal part of the hollow fiber bundle in the housing and fixing the hollow fibers by a potting material. CONSTITUTION:A hollow fiber bundle 2 is inserted in a housing 1 and cup-shaped members 4, 5 each consisting of a side wall part and a bottom surface part are mounted to the end surface of the housing 1. In this case, a temporary sealant is preliminarily put in the cup-shaped member 5 and the end parts of hollow fibers are temporarily fixed and filled. Air is sprayed to the other end parts of said fibers from above by a nozzle to uniformly disperse the end parts of the hollow fibers of the hollow fiber bundle 2. A potting material is injected in the housing 1 from a port 3 to fix the inner wall of the housing and the dispersed hollow fibers as well as the hollow fibers each other. The cup-shaped member of the temporary seal part of the hollow fiber bundle is detached and the temporary seal part is cut and air is sprayed to the terminal parts of the fibers in the same way to uniformly disperse the fibers and, thereafter, said fibers are fixed by the potting material.

(Prior art) Conventionally, the method for manufacturing hollow fiber type artificial organs involves inserting a bundle of hollow fibers into a housing, loosening each bundle by hand or machine, and then temporarily fixing one end of the hollow fibers. After temporarily fixing the hollow fiber bundle with a resin solution, fix the other end of the hollow fiber bundle to the end of the housing with a potting agent such as polyurethane, and then cut the temporarily fixed part of the hollow fiber end with a cutter, etc. and is fixed to the end of the housing. However, in this conventional method, when the end portion of a hollow fiber bundle is temporarily fixed with a resin liquid, the hollow fibers tend to be uneven and cannot be dispersed uniformly because the resin liquid has a high viscosity. In order to eliminate this drawback, a method is used in which a ball or the like is placed in the center of the end of the hollow fiber bundle to disperse the hollow fibers uniformly. The disadvantage was that it was easy to become sparse.

That is, in the first invention, when temporarily fixing the end of a hollow fiber bundle with a temporary fixing agent, a cup-shaped member consisting of two parts consisting of a bottom part and a side wall part, which can be easily attached and detached, is used. When a plurality of fibers are uniformly distributed within the housing, only the side wall cup is attached and the end face is left open. Note that the cup-shaped member includes a shallow-bottomed member such as a petri dish. In addition, when temporarily fixing and sealing one end of the hollow fiber, a temporary adhesive may be injected after attaching the bottom cup.
Alternatively, a small amount of temporary adhesive may be added to the bottom cup before installation. Here, "r-blocking" refers to closing the ends to prevent the potting agent from entering the inside of the hollow fiber when it is centrifuged. After temporarily fixing the end of the hollow fiber, the necessary amount of botting material is injected, for example, by centrifugation from the boat part of the housing, and then the cup-shaped member consisting of two parts is removed and the hollow fiber is The end of the organ is cut and an artificial organ is assembled.

In addition, in the second invention, one end face of the hollow fiber is temporarily fixed according to the first invention, air is blown onto the other end face to disperse it uniformly, and then it is fixed with a potting material. The artificial organ is manufactured by cutting the part where the temporary fixation marks have been made and dispersing and fixing it by blowing air in the same way as described above. The means for blowing air in the second invention has a diameter of about 1 to 10 mm.
It is best to spray from the tip of a nozzle of about III+.
The amount of air blown is 60 to 400 Q/min, the wind pressure is 0.5 to 5 kg/2, the distance between the nozzle and the east end of the fiber is 5 to 80 nn+, and the number of nozzles may be one or more.

Next, the present invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the drawings. In 9 drawings, 1 is a housing, 2 is a hollow fiber bundle, and 3 is a hollow fiber bundle.
is a boat. Now, insert the hollow fiber bundle into the housing, and then attach the cup-shaped members 4 and 5 consisting of side walls and bottom parts to the end surface of the housing (see Figure 1).
. In this case, a temporary fixing agent 7 is placed in advance in the cup-shaped member 5 constituting the bottom part, and the ends of the hollow fibers are temporarily fixed and sealed. Thereafter, air is blown onto the other end from a nozzle from above to uniformly disperse one end of each hollow fiber in the hollow fiber bundle (see FIG. 2). Then, a potting material such as polyurethane is injected from the boat to fix the space between the inner wall of the housing and the dispersed hollow fibers, as well as between each hollow fiber (see Fig. 3). Next, remove the cup-shaped member from the temporarily fixed part of the hollow fiber bundle, cut the temporarily fixed part, and then spray air from the nozzle to the end of the hollow fiber bundle to uniformly disperse it, and then apply the botting material. stick.

By the method of the present invention, the inner and outer diameter of the fiber is 200μ×2.
When a fiber bundle consisting of 62,000 40 μ fibers was inserted into a housing and air was blown at the end of the fiber bundle for 8 minutes at a flow rate of 200 Q/min, an oxygenator in which the fibers were uniformly dispersed was obtained.

(Effects of the Invention) As described above, when a plurality of hollow fibers are temporarily fixed in a housing, a cup-shaped member consisting of two parts that can be easily attached and detached is used, and when the fibers are uniformly distributed, the side wall Because the end of the fiber was open, sufficient dispersion was possible because the cup at the bottom was set, and when temporarily fixing, a temporary fixing agent was put in the cup at the bottom, so a good dispersion was possible. Temporary fixation can be performed while maintaining the dispersed state, which prevents densification.Furthermore, even when the botting material is injected by centrifugation in this state, there is no densification of the fibers, and the fibers are uniformly dispersed before botting. can be carried out without any leakage. Then, after temporarily fixing one end of the hollow fiber as described above, the present invention further enables the hollow fiber to be evenly dispersed by an extremely simple method of blowing air to the other end of the hollow fiber. Since there is no need to directly touch the fibers with hands or objects as in the past, there is no damage to the hollow fibers, and since the hollow fibers are evenly distributed, the gas exchange performance of the artificial organ is stable without variations. This has the effect that artificial organs can be obtained.
