[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Industrial Field of Application] The present invention relates to a ventilation system that promotes ventilation in attics and inside buildings in the summer and suppresses it in the winter to create a comfortable environment.

Traditionally, most attic vents are open type, with the function of allowing wind to enter from upwind and exit from leeward.

In normal buildings, the ventilation openings under the floor are open, and the attic space and the space under the floor are communicated through a wall cavity.

In the summer, when there is wind, if we consider only attic ventilation, it will come in and go out, but because the height of the inflow is high, it mixes with hot air and loses its cooling power. The temperature does not drop easily, but the flow of wind in the building does not only take place in the attic, but is also affected by the ventilation openings under the floor.

In other words, the phenomenon of heat generation occurs depending on the number of underfloor ventilation holes in the north, south, east, and west and the direction of the wind.

Normally, there are about 10 underfloor ventilation holes in total, but there are two in the south, two each in the west and east, and four in the north, which is not balanced with respect to each side. Wind enters through the two underfloor ventilation vents, creating negative pressure areas in the four north and four east and west vents, and the pulling force acts, resulting in negative pressure in the underfloor space. It takes in air and guides the hot air from the attic to the floor below, heating up the entire building.

In winter, the wind changes to the northwest, and the number of air intakes from the underfloor ventilation holes is 6, and the number of exhaust air is 4, which increases the amount of air intake, and due to the pressure, the air is exhausted from the attic ventilation holes on the leeward side. This causes the inside of the house to cool down.

In the summer, air coming in through the attic vents makes the building hot, and in the winter, exhausting the building through the attic vents makes the building cold, so in the summer it is best to use only exhaust air and in the winter, there is no ventilation at all. This creates a comfortable space that is cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

At the top of the ventilation box 1 is an intake and exhaust port 4 with a damper 7 that can be opened and closed freely, consisting of a spring 8, a hinge 11, and a remote control wire 12, and at the back of that is an exhaust port 3, and at the top of the box body of the exhaust port 3 is a check valve 6 suspended from a pin 10 to allow hot air to flow from the attic space to the outside, and below is an intake port 2, and above the outside of the box body of the intake port 2 is a check valve 5 suspended from a pin 9 to allow fresh air to flow from the outside to the attic space, and they are installed in a pair in the attic space.

At the top of the ventilation box 1, there is an air intake/exhaust port 4 with a damper 7 that can be opened and closed and is made up of springs, hinges, 11, and remote control wires 12. At the back of the air intake/exhaust port 4, there is an exhaust port 3. There is a check valve 6 that allows hot air to flow from the attic space to the outside, suspended from the attic space, and there is an intake port 2 at the bottom. There is a check valve 5 that allows outside air to flow into the attic space, and a pair of check valves 5 are installed in the attic space, and the underfloor space 1
4 are communicated through a wall cavity, and an underfloor ventilation opening 15 is provided in the underfloor space 14.

In the summer, as shown in FIG. 1, the remote control wire 12 is pulled in the direction of the arrow and fixed to a stopper (not shown).

Now, if the wind is coming from the right direction in the drawing, in the attic ventilation box on the windward side, the outside air is sucked in through the intake and exhaust ports 4, and the outside air is sucked in through the ventilation box 1 and passed from the intake port 2 to the check valve 5.
is pushed open and flows to the bottom of the attic space 13. A check valve 6 is pressed against the exhaust port 3 at the top, and air does not flow through it.

On the other hand, on the leeward side, there is a negative pressure state, and the intake/exhaust port 4 tries to pull out hot air from the attic space 13. In this case, the hot air in the upper part of the attic space 13 pushes the check valve 6 open from the exhaust port 3. It passes through the ventilation box 1 and is further discharged to the outside through the intake and exhaust ports 4.

In the underfloor space 14, the windward underfloor ventilation opening 1
Air enters through the ventilation opening 15 on the leeward side and exits through the underfloor ventilation opening 15 on the leeward side, but most of it is guided to the attic ventilation opening on the leeward side, making the building as cool as the outside temperature.

In the winter, the clasp of the remote control wire 12 is removed, and the damper 7, which is pulled back by the force of the spring 8 in the opposite direction of the arrow, closes the intake/exhaust port 4 and blocks the inflow and outflow of air. Although not shown in the figure, the underfloor ventilation opening 15 is also closed to block air inflow and outflow.

As explained above, this idea is used to ventilate the attic in summer by taking in outside air from the bottom of the attic and releasing hot air to the outside from the top of the attic, increasing the heat exhaust effect and cooling the entire building. In winter, by blocking ventilation, warmth can be maintained, increasing comfort in both summer and winter.
This is an attic ventilation box that contributes to energy conservation.
