Abstract

PURPOSE:To pick up a video image easy to see and to reduce the cost without adding components by fitting a polarized plate in place of protection glass on the surface of a solid-state image pickup element to eliminate the irregularly reflected light component due to sun rays or the like. CONSTITUTION:A package 1 is made of a ceramic or a plastic, pellets 2 of the solid-state image pickup element is loated on the bottom and sealed by a polarized plate 3 to protect the pellets 2 of the solid-state image pickup element. The polarized plate 3 is arranged so that the direction of polarization is made equal to the horizontal scanning direction of the solid-state image pickup element of the pellet 2. Thus, the light component whose polarized plane differs from the horizontal scanning direction is attenuated or not transmitted at all, resulting in that the irregularly reflected light component is reduced.

A pellet 2 of a solid-state image sensor was mounted on top of the package 1, and a protective glass 4 was attached to the surface of the package 1 to protect the inside of the package 1.

The conventional solid-state image sensor mentioned above has a protective glass attached to the surface of the device, and does not have a polarizing plate.
Diffuse reflection caused by sunlight could not be removed. Furthermore, in order to prevent diffused reflection, it is necessary to install a polarizing plate on the protective glass surface on the optical axis that enters the solid-state image sensor, which has the drawback of increasing the cost of the device.

〔実施例〕〔Example〕

次に本発明について図面を参照して説明する。 Next, the present invention will be explained with reference to the drawings.

In the figure, a package 1 is made of ceramic or plastic, and a pellet 2 of a solid-state image sensor is attached to the base portion of the package 1. The package 1 is sealed with a polarizing plate 3 to protect the pellet 2 of the solid-state image sensor.

The polarizing plate 3 is arranged so that the direction of polarization is the same with respect to the horizontal scanning direction of the solid-state imaging device of the pellet 2. As a result, components of light whose plane of polarization is different from the horizontal scanning direction are attenuated and not transmitted, or are not transmitted at all, resulting in a reduction in the diffusely reflected light component.

In the figure, the polarizing plate 3 is several μm thick in order to obtain a specific polarization.
A large number of lines are drawn at a pitch of n to several tens of μm (20 to 500 lines per 1 mm width). Of the light that passes through the polarizing plate 3, light with a component having a specific plane of polarization A parallel to this line passes through the polarizing plate 3 without being attenuated, but light with other components is attenuated. In particular, the component of light with a plane of polarization B perpendicular to the line is attenuated the most. That is, as the light passes through the polarizing plate 3, light having components of polarization planes other than the specific polarization plane A is suppressed.

Therefore, the diffused reflection of light is caused by the gathering of light components with various polarization planes, so the polarizing plate 3
Among these lights incident on the sensor, light having a component of a polarization plane other than the specific polarization plane A is suppressed, thereby preventing diffusely reflected light from entering the solid-state image sensor of Peretz 1 and 2. can.

As explained above, the present invention removes the diffusely reflected light component caused by sunlight etc. by attaching a polarizing plate instead of the protective glass on the surface of the solid-state image sensor, reduces costs without adding any parts, and provides easy-to-see images. It has the effect of being able to image.
