する。さらに詳しくは動力機関に用いられる潤滑油に添
加することにより、潤滑油自身の耐荷重性を向上せしめ
ると共に動力機関の磨耗を防ぎ、摩擦によるエネルギー
効率の低下を軽減しつる潤滑油用添加剤に関する。
[従来の技術] 従来、潤滑油の潤滑特性を向上させる添加剤として、ポ
リテトラフルオロエチレン(PTFE)や二硫化モリブ
デンの微粉末の懸濁液が商品化されている。
PTFEは耐熱性、潤滑特性、耐薬品性に優れた樹脂で
はあるが、殆んどの有機溶剤に不溶であり、溶液状で使
用することができず、したがって微粉末化したものが懸
濁液の状態で使用されている。しかしながら、依然とし
て潤滑油との相溶性や潤滑油への分散性なとに問題があ
り、たとえば使用前に懸濁液中で沈澱したり、潤滑油に
添加した後も潤滑油中で分離沈澱したり、動力機関内に
沈着したり、さらにはフィルターを詰まらせたりしてい
る。
また、PTFE微粉末や二硫化モリブデンの微粉末を潤
滑油に添加しても、耐荷重性はさほど向上しない。
[発明が解決しようとする問題点] 本発明は従来の懸濁型の添加剤に代えて、懸濁型の微粉
末に基因する欠点を押除できかつ耐荷重性および磨耗防
止性が向上せられた溶液型の潤滑油用添加剤を提供する
ことを目的とする。
[問題点を解決するための手段コ かかる目的は、溶剤可溶性フッ素樹脂に該樹脂の溶剤と
フタール酸エステルとを配合することによって達成され
る。
[作 用コ 本発明の潤滑油用添加剤において、溶剤可溶性フッ素樹
脂が潤滑油の耐荷重性を向上せしめ、フタノール酸エス
テルが磨耗防止性を向上せしめているものと考えられる
が、未だ明らかではない。
[実施例コ 溶剤可溶性フッ素樹脂は主として塗料用の造膜成分とし
て開発され使用されているが、本発明で用いる溶剤可溶
性フッ素樹脂としては、そうした塗料用の溶剤可溶性フ
ッ素樹脂を含め、通常の有機溶剤に溶解するものが使用
できる。
好ましい溶剤可溶性フッ素樹脂としては、たとえばフル
オロカーボンと炭化水素型ビニルニーチルとの分子tj
l 5 X 103〜2X105の交互共重合体があげ
られる。溶剤可溶性フッ素樹脂中のフッ素含有量として
は25〜30重量%が好ましいが、溶剤に可溶であれば
それ以上のフッ素を合釘していてもよい。とくに好まし
い溶剤可溶性フッ素樹脂としては、旭硝子■製のルミフ
ロンシリーズがあげられる。
このフッ素樹脂を溶解する溶剤にはケトン類、エステル
類、ハロゲン化炭化水素類、芳香族炭化水素類などが用
いられ、好ましい溶剤としては、たとえばアセトン、メ
チルエチルケトン、メチルイソブチルケトン、シクロヘ
キサノン、エチルアセテート、ブチルアセテート、エト
キシエチルアセテート、ジエチレングリコール、モノエ
チルエーテル、エチレングリコールモノ7’ f /l
/ ニー テ/l/、6リリとシ知、びす(吻 \トリ
クロルエタン、クロロホルム、ベンゼン、キシレン、ト
ルエンなとの1種または2種以上かあげられ、とくにメ
チルイソブチルケトン、キシレン、エチレングリコール
モノブチルエーテルなどが好ましい。
フタール酸エステルは、溶剤可溶性フッ素樹脂の添加に
よりやや低下する磨耗防止性(使用部位の壁面などの磨
耗を防止する特性)を向上せしめる働きをする。フター
ル酸エステルとしては、たとえばジブチルフタレート、
ジオクチルフタレート、ジイソデシルフタレートなどが
あげられる。
各成分の配合割合は、対象とする潤滑油、フッ素樹脂や
溶剤、フタール酸エステルの種類によって異なるが、通
常溶剤可溶性フッ素樹脂100部(重量部、以下同様)
に対して溶剤を50〜500部、好ましくは 150〜
300部、フタール酸エステルを1〜50部、好ましく
は1〜1o部配合すればよい。なお、本発明の添加剤は
溶液型ではあるが、不溶部分を若干含んでいてもよい。
またフタール酸エステルの範囲量を増やすと溶剤可溶性
フッ素樹脂や潤滑油との相溶性がやや低下し、溶剤可溶
性フッ素樹脂による潤滑油の耐荷重性の向上の度合も低
下する傾向にある。
とくに好ましい配合は、溶剤可溶性フッ素樹脂100部
に対してキシレンが30〜300部、好ましくは 10
0〜200部、エチレングリコールモノブチルエーテル
が10〜200部、好ましくは30〜100部、ジオク
チルフタレートが1〜50部、好ましくは1〜10部で
ある。
対象とする潤滑油としては、レシプロエンジン、ターボ
エンジン、ロータリーエンジンなどのエンジン類や軸受
などの可動部分に使用されている従来の潤滑油があげら
れる。潤滑油に対する配合量は、潤滑油1gあたり溶剤
可溶性フッ素樹脂が0.01〜10g1好ましくは0.
1〜4gとなる量である。
また、本発明の添加剤に予じめ潤滑油を少量添加してお
けば、潤滑油へ添加したときの混合・分散が一層容易に
なる。かかる潤滑油の添加剤への配合量は、溶剤可溶性
フッ素樹脂100部に対して10〜300部程度が好ま
しい。
つぎに本発明の添加剤を実施例に基づいて説明するが、
本発明はかかる実施例のみに限定されるものではない。
実施例1 溶剤可溶性フッ素樹脂として旭硝子■製ルミフロンLP
−400を用い、これにキシレン、エチレングリコール
モノブチルエーテル(EGBE)、ジオクチルフタレー
ト(DOP)を第1表に示す割合で配合して潤滑油用添
加剤を作製した。ついで潤滑油(出光興産■製の自動車
用エンジンオイル:アポロイルファースト)1Ωに溶剤
可溶性フッ素樹脂が第1表に示す量となるように各添加
剤を添加して、各潤滑油の耐荷重性および磨耗防止性(
着出式四球摩擦試験機により測定した耐荷重能および磨
耗痕径で表わす)を調べた。結果を第1表に示す。
[以下余白〕 第1表から明らかなごとく、DOPを配合しないとき(
実験番号5〜7)は耐荷重性は向上するが、磨耗防止性
が低下する。しかしDOPを配合するとき(実験番号2
〜4)は耐荷重性が向上すると共に磨耗防止性も回復す
る。
なお、いずれの添加剤も作製3日後においても相分離や
フッ素樹脂のゲル化は生ぜず、また潤滑油への混合も容
易であった。
[発明の効果] 本発明のふ加削を用いるときは、潤滑油の耐荷重性を向
上せしめることができると共に使用部分の磨耗を防止す
ることができ、摩擦によるエネルギー効率の低下を抑制
することができる。
したがって、エンジンなどの動力機関に使用するときは
、出力の増大、騒音の防止、燃費の削減、部品の寿命の
延長などの優れた効果が奏される。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1 溶剤可溶性フッ素樹脂と該樹脂の溶剤とフタール酸
    エステルとからなる潤滑油用添加剤。 2 溶剤がケトン類、エステル類、エーテル類、ハロゲ
    ン化炭化水素類、芳香族炭化水素類またはそれらの混合
    物である特許請求の範囲第1項記載の添加剤。 3 溶剤がキシレンまたはエチレングリコールモノブチ
    ルエーテルである特許請求の範囲第2項記載の添加剤。 4 フタール酸エステルがジオクチルフタレートまたは
    ジブチルフタレートである特許請求の範囲第1項記載の
    添加剤。 5 溶剤可溶性フッ素樹脂がフルオロオレフィンと炭化
    水素系ビニルエーテルとの交互共重合体である特許請求
    の範囲第1項記載の添加剤。 6 溶剤可溶性フッ素樹脂のフッ素含有量が約25〜3
    0重量%である特許請求の範囲第5項記載の添加剤。 7 溶剤可溶性フッ素樹脂100重量部にキシレン30
    〜300重量部、エチレングリコールモノブチルエーテ
    ル10〜200重量部およびジオクチルフタレート1〜
    50重量部が配合されてなる特許請求の範囲第1項記載
    の添加剤。
